Oil and gas pipelines include crude oil pipelines, finished products pipelines and natural gas pipelines. They have the characteristics of large geographical area span, long construction years and frequent safety accidents, and the total pipeline mileage shows a continuous growth trend. With the increasing urgency of safety patrol and management requirements, conventional patrol methods are no longer sufficient to meet the requirements of high, precise and accurate inspection. To improve the safe and efficient operation level of oil and gas pipeline facilities, the long endurance inspection scheme of unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) emerges at the historic moment.
Limitations of traditional inspection methods
1. Manual patrol
In the traditional pipeline inspection means, manual inspection has been the most basic, the most common way. This method relies on patrol personnel to walk around, but in areas with steep terrain, this method is greatly limited, and the cost is high and the workload is large, especially in the large-scale, long-distance pipeline monitoring is particularly inconvenient.
2. Optical fiber or electronic sensor inspection
Optical fiber or electronic sensing inspection is a way to analyze and warn the vibration around the pipeline by laying optical fiber sensors. However, this method has the problems of high error, short operating range and high cost. More importantly, it can not provide real-time images and critical decision-making information for command centers, limiting its usefulness in dealing with emergencies.
Advantages and application of UAV long endurance inspection scheme
1. Convenient Pipeline route selection and construction: through comprehensive and rapid acquisition of target terrain and landform information, the P2X UAV can provide a scientific and reasonable basis for pipeline route selection. At the same time, through the analysis of the construction site topography, traffic, the surrounding environment and so on, to help the construction workers quickly and accurately into the construction phase.
2, efficient routine inspection: the P2X helicopter can carry a variety of unmanned sensor task load, complete visible light, infrared, laser and other data acquisition, while using AI intelligent recognition technology, quickly find out the hidden dangers around the pipeline, such as housing occupation, engineering/civil vehicles, earth excavation and so on, and timely feedback to the staff for disposal; with the remote speaker, can be found in time, deter, stop the destruction of pipelines and oil theft, and on-site evidence.
